406 exec fuel computer

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

It does have a trip computer but it's not wired up by default. There's a huge thread about retro-fitting in the electrical forum - a few of us have done it (some on multiple cars :) ). If the job's been done, it could have been disabled in order to sell the car with its OEM stereo (you can't have trip computer functionality AND the stereo display). To re-enable it, lever the display out and using a small screwdriver turn the switch on the steering wheel side round a notch.

Yep, it means the trip computer's only been half retro-fitted. If you want the remaining fuel function, you'll have to do some wiring and intercept the fuel gauge sender from the dashboard connector. See the trip computer retro-fitting thread in the electrical forum for more details
