Spare key doesnt work
my spare key has been sitting at my aunts house for about 6 months, she found it last week and gave it to me. But its not working, the central locking doesnt work and it seems the immobiliser is not working either.
what can i do here. its not a huge problem at the moment as its the spare, but its good to know i have one incase i loose the key.

Re: Spare key doesnt work
my spare keys remote locking doesnt work as well. but it does open the car manually and starts it no problem.
have you tried a new battery in it and re programing it ?
also does the button make a click sound ? sometimes the micro switch on the tiny circuit board inside breaks ,

No. But PP2000 can get the car to 'learn' the key codes again, (even when the reprogramming sequence in the handbook won't work), but you need the 4-digit PIN code from the security card that should come with the car.
Frank - your spare has probably just been operated too many times out of range of the car and so lost 'synch' - should be able to reprogram as handbook.

Re: Spare key doesnt work
It's possible your key is faulty, but have you tried re-synching it?
You can get the code from Pug for about £25, or:
join http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/
search for a post called Peugeot VIN to PIN, (or similar)
post your VIN and someone'll reply with the PIN - got mine within 24 hours.

How can you be sure the Code is correct?dogslife wrote:It's possible your key is faulty, but have you tried re-synching it?

Because risking to program an invalid CODE would be a pain in the arss.. basically i wouldn't be able to put the car starting again ...just basically ..

Re: Spare key doesnt work
Why would peugeot want £25 just to look in a book for 4 numbers

Re: Spare key doesnt work
I imagine they've got access to Pug's system, or have a keygen program that comes up with the same answer.
