how activated seat belt warning light?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

how activated seat belt warning light?

Post by bl4ckclio »

as topic

peugeot 406 2.0 16v
look at speedo clocks, there is seat belt warning light but blank off bulb.
I try to fill the bulb, but the light won't illuminated when the belt released from pretensioner.

anyone knows how to make the light illuminate when the seat belt released?

thanks.

My D8 1.9TD L used to have a seatbelt warning reminder.

Yet my D9 Rapier didn't? :?

Although I highly suspect my D8 was an ex emergency services vehicle.

The car is a D8 and there are no wiring diagrams on SEDRE going back that far, sorry. I've been looking about for an older version but nothing doing I'm afraid.

I'm actually struggling to see why anyone would want to make this light work, it's not like you can't see the seat belts...

That be right, they came with or without the alarm. Even if you got hold of the right ones there'd then be the question of wiring.

Oh, it is a D9, I searched your old posts and your car was a D8 :? I'll have a look later (off to town just now) but any chance of a build code? 2001 puts it right between semi- and full-mux.

don't know what have to do again.......

this D9 I bought a month ago, good condition I think :cheesy:
just wanna fully featuring which another 406 had.

what can I see to determine if my car semi/full-mux?
which I know, D9 use BSI.....not like D8.

http://www.petrila.net/pug/Service/index.htm

go to 60 (Protection....assistance group) -> air bags/seat belt pretensioner

but I don't understand about how to read that code/symbol/wire number

maybe Mr. Earwig can help!

I suppose the easiest way would be to compare your column stalks to the D8's - semi-mux cars will be similar, full-mux cars have the good ol' COM2000 which has much bigger stalks.

Petrila only does full-mux 406s.

Nah, that one will do you, the one for semi-mux is the same except that it heads straight for the bulb in the instrument panel instead of the BSI. It appears to be a very simple system, if the driver's seat belt isn't plugged in it lights up a little light on the instrument panel, woop-de-doo. On a full-mux car you may (or may not) even get a bong! If the wiring isn't there (it's a 2-way white connector on the front of the seat) then I really, really, wouldn't worry about it.
