The car is a 1999, Y reg 2.0l HDI 110 exec estate. I pretty sure it's a D9 semi mux.
Bit of background:
About a week ago, my son put the front passenger window part way down, and it wouldn't go back up again, but did still go all the way down with the switch, never to return again.

Since then I have:
1. Verified that the passenger window switch is perfectly ok.
2. Verifed the drivers switch is perfectly ok. (expensively, as got a good working unit from another scrap one. Boy was that difficult to find an executive one.

3. Checked that there is continuity in the wiring/no breaks or chaffs, and that power is being supplied to the window motor.
4. Expensively again, got a known working motor from scrap, again still no effect.
5. All fuses are intact
6. BSI reset has had no effect.
The only other information I can give is that it seems the window is quite happy to go down, the scrap one put in was a few inches of the bottom of the rail, and the switches took it all the way down, but not back up again.
There is no clicking or noise from the motor when pressing up on the passenger or drivers switch.
There is however the usual click from the motor when pressing down on the passenger switch. (the window is fully down, and the click is the usual one you get from the motor when fully up or down. However I don't get the click from the motor when using the drivers door down switch.
There are 2 pins on the passenger motor wiring, and I get 12V from one pin pressing up on the passenger switch, and 12v from the other pin when pressing down on the passenger switch.
However I only get 12v on the pin when pressing up on the drivers switch, and 0v on the other pin when pressing down on the drivers switch.
Again I know the actual drivers switch assembly itself is working.
Don't know where to find the relays for the windows, if this could be the cause?
And the Haynes book of lies, especially with wire colours

I've found a fuse for the drivers window alone 20A, the rear windows 30A, a general fuse for the whole system 30A, a fuse for the window relay 5A, and a fuse 'for the windows' & window lighting circuit board 10A (has no effect on anything window related when removed

Yet cannot find any mention of a fuse specifically related to the passenger window in the handbook.

Really don't know best step next, other than give up, and keep the blue peter sticky tape method of keeping the window closed.

Is this likely to be a BSI issue, and would it be readable?
Sorry about the major essay, but any and all help greatly appreciated!!
