Airbag light flashes but no trouble code

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Airbag light flashes but no trouble code

Post by JensJakob »

Hello.

I have this airbag light flashing, but when I use my OBD2 (WiFi) and OBD Doctor on my iPad I get no trouble codes besides P0380.
Is it possible there is a connection between the airbag light and the trouble code? If not, what can I do about the P0380 trouble code and the airbag light?

Hi & welcome.

You're luck to get anything at all out of a generic scanner. This looks like a case for Peugeot Planet...

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Agreed, it might not be capable of interrogating the airbag ecu. Or the airbag ecu might be dead... Did you try the usual suspects under the seat?

Incidentally, the glow plug circuit fault I've been told actually refers to detected faults on the glowplugs themselves. It still doesn't mean anything though as they all do that sir.

Quick answers - I like :)

I will try to find a person with Peugeot Planet. Will the program work with most OBDII plugs that can be connected via USB?
I have bought the car for a couple of months ago, and the previous owner had fixed it and it worked for a while but then it came again. Nice to know, the P0380 is "normal". The engine runs perfect so I will just continue.

You need the psa interface lead afaik. Search lexia clone on ebay. pp2000 also requires windows xp. What area are you in? there may be someone local that can help out.

Sorry for the late answer. I have ordered and recieved this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181415493539? ... 26_rdc%3D1

I will get my old XP laptop today and try to make the software work. I have tried on a emulator on my Windows 8.1 but it does not seem to work.

I am from Denmark so I am sadly a bit far from most of you

I think you might find someone nearer to you on the coupe forum http://www.406coupeclub.org/phpbb3/index.php

There are two forum members offering diagnostic assistance in Denmark
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
