there are companies which do diesel remaps. Most of those, if you Google for them, talk about the HDI engines. However I have seen at least one company in the UK offering to remap 2.1 engines. Bear in mind though that you engine is already tuned well towards the economy end, and when we talk about remaps it's usually to get more power at the expense of economy

Derv Doctor do/did a map for the 2.1. It is not an HDi engine but it is electronically controlled so can be re-tuned.
On diesels most owners can report better economy overall because the engine is not working so hard when cruising etc
Your 'cheeseburger' warning sounds like the low coolant level warning to me. You should check and top up the coolant (when engine cold) but also keep an eye on your radiator at the bottom for signs of leaks around the pipe connections. Also look at the left side of the engine (as you open the bonnet) for signs of leaks from the water pump which lives behind the cambelt cover but will show leaks at the bottom end. If its not losing coolant regularly the you should be ok.

Really? I'll shut up then (first time for everything!), thought they were the basic fly-by-wire rheostat working the pump lever type units. Live and learn
