Hey Neil, are you still using the usual 180 bhp map, with a few more goodies, or something a bit more extreme?

Wouldn't mind seeing pictures of the front with the scooby FMIC

Sorry about the Golf Club. We were all obsessed with Golf here for a brief while after McIlroy and Clarke.
That has all died down now after the hangovers and the poor play in the Irish Open / WGC invitiational.
Hey M8 It's fine Lol

All taken in good taste :) Yeah I'll try put a photo up, I still dunno how to put a photo as my avatar

Hey Dogslife :)

Yes still using the usual 180 bhp map, with removed fap and cat, and stright thru rear box (wouldn't call it a silencer really lol ), then obviously the FMIC gets cooler and more oxygen into the cyl-s, so i bled the map sensor til the boost gauge was reading 1.75 Bar, altho later i found this to be contrary to a couple of ppl's advice not to exceed 1.5 Bar...

...in turn, and a few weeks down the line, i finally managed to blow my turbo on tuesday :( and had that lovely squeeze of getting behind the engine to replace it with the 1 off my old motor.

What a job ! What a pain for only 4 bolts, 3 nuts, and 4 jubilee clips !

And I'm hoping to do it all again when i can afford to have the old 1 Hybrid'd so it'll manage the extra boost without throwing compressor blades

Hey, all in the name of power + economy + 7 seats + space like a van LOL :cheesy:

Sorry M8, altho I'd love 2 meet with th guys, I dunno if I'll be able 2 make it that weekend :( few things goin on ..... altho I am planning to goto TRAX at Silverstone on 4th Sept . Is there any club presence planned ? or any1 just goin ?

Can't make Trax unfortunately, though I'm thinking about doing the 6 hours of Silverstone (Le Mans Series & Intercontinental Le Mans Cup)
the following weekend. The coupe guys were talking about going earlier in the year, don't know if they still are - I would go anyway just for the race.

Wow!

That's one mean intercooler!

It could easily be an extra for the next Mad Max movie

Good job! :)

Not intentionally

They're meant to cool the air down after it's been boosted / compressed by the turbo,
as cooler = denser = more oxygen = more poke / less smoke. :supafrisk:

i agree 100% with you there, but a lot of ruined 306 d turbos have stickers on the back window that have that essential equation the wrong way round.

probably explains why none of them have any poke and you have to overtake them (very easily) to get out of their clouds of smoke.

what about the egr valve did you or frenzy406 remove them, i blanked it off on my hdi 110 would you say its a good thing to do?

Haven't touched the egr on mine. Assuming it seals properly when it's closed, I can't see any point as it's only opened at all when the engine's not really pulling. I've heard they assist warm-up too.

Hey guys Ha cool thanks :D

Re the 'cooler, I think i was a bit influenced by the drag cars at PVS last year, and getting too drawn into the jap scene at JapFest 2 this year was the last straw lol

I plan getting round to making some carbon panels for next season's shows Lol 8)

Yes as i suspected that my EGR was leaking/making a "she she she" kinda noise on higher boost, i recently disconnected the blue plug from the EGR valve solenoid, seeing that a lot do it on the 306 forums, then made a stainless steel blanking plate for the plenum chamber end of the pipe just to make sure...

And yes i've read that the EGR is supposed to speed up warm up, but mine still warms up within a minute or 2, so i'm liking it de-activated at the mo ... :)
