Their effect on rear visibility may explain this & I was tempted to lose them too, or at least the middle one.
Had some reservations with regard to safety of rear passengers, but then it's not that safe if you reverse into things either.

Later discovered the dog guard wouldn't stay up

Tried allsorts to jam it in place, without success.

My daughter evetually told me to tie-wrap the dog gaurd to the headrest uprights.

(She does this with her 206SW).
Brilliant, I thought, you can learn from the younger generation.
Thinking I was on a roll, I asked how she managed to see behind her with headrests & all.....
Oh, I don't bother looking
