Amphibious Massey Ferguson

Post by CountryPug »

Thought you guys might enjoy these links. Its a couple of clips of a stunt we carried out last year to raise funds for Autism NI and the local church.

This infact was not the first time this type of stunt was undertaken by someone in our family. In 1987 my dad and the local Young Farmers club floated my B6000 Kubota, I have some photos of that event too which I will scan and post at a later date.

Hope you find it interesting.

Feel free to ask any questions, alot of work went into it.

A Pic taken in our yard the morning of the event, You might spot a 406 in there aswell :D

The first video with me driving/piloting was taken near the Newferry at the mouth of Lough Beg, the second was taken near Portglenone. The entire journey ran from Newferry to Coleraine Marina.

The treads on the tyres give some propulsion but the main drive comes via a prop shaft driven by the PTO with a propeller at the end.

This Pic should make things a little clearer :D
