Swiss Sanchez' Used Peugeot Emporium

Post by swiss »

Well, it was inevitable. It is with great :( that the Green Dream, sleek and sexy automobile of diesely awesomeness, needs re-homing.

Faithful friend, reliable mode of transport and all too often abused upon the A33.

So roll up, roll up, and come on down to Swiss' Bargain Motors just off Winchester Road for all your 406 needs! Drive away a spanking used 406 today! Join the owners' club forum and meet like-minded cynical and weird people! Etc.

So there we go, chaps and chapette. I honestly think I may shed a small tear when it goes.

Seriously though, click the link and buy the car pls ^_^

I had a read through earlier and thought the same Welly,

though i have to say i wasnt being so kind i just thought "typical 406 owner" he is going to wait till there at least 5 jobs need doing and make a day of it :cheesy:

the amount of little bits that need doing on mine and it just doesnt seem worth getting the spanners out till its a days work or its something that stops it starting

Good luck flogging it Swiss, i hope she goes to a deserving new home,

Mostly it was a case of forty quid here, forty quid there, and I can't possibly justify spending that on something silly like a car when certain people need new shoes to wear once on a night out and then leave in the bottom of the wardrobe, or a new dress for similar reasons, or a very expensive brand new three piece suite which is gathering dust in a storage locker even though I'm still paying out for it every month, or a plane ticket for a friend to fly over from California (I've gone ahead and bought it on the credit card, you don't mind do you?).

Those are much better uses of money.

I miss waking the neighbours up at 7am with my old XUD Citroen.

dukkadukkadukkadukka on idle.

Proper diesel.

Run it on chip fat when the black stuff starts running out too.

So the Wifely Omega just came back from its little annual holiday at the MOT station. Hand brake scored - drumroll - 4%! New shoes and discs machined... could have been worse I suppose. And fifty quid for a new indicator stalk, who'd have thunk Poxall parts would be so dear? I always got most of my Pug spares from the scrappy. For, um, free...

Well that was f*cking weird. Pretty much word for word. Kinda reminded me of the guy on Little Britain, always wants to buy something massively specific:

*ring ring, ring ring*

Ello?

Have you sold you car?

Er, no, it's still going.

Is it a diesel?

Er, yes. Have you seen the eBay advert?

No, I'm not in front of a computer. Has it been involved in any accidents?

Er... I don't think so, no.

How many previous owners has it had?

Erm, hold on, let me check the V5... it's had 6 previous.

How many miles are on the clock?

175'000.

Oh

*click*

I had similar when I was selling a Xantia 1.8, 10 year old at the time, 67k miles from new (as warranted by MOTs and the last owner being a pensioner who traded it in for a Civic).

"Hi is the Citroen still for sale"

"Yes it is"

"Can you tell me about it?"

"Well its 1.8, 11month MOT, service history etc. etc."

"Is that the right mileage? 67k?"

"Yep it is"

"You sure?"

"Yes it's got 67k."

"Nah doesnt sound right" >click<

*chuckles sympathetically and knowingly at Swissy's missus dipping into the Bank of Swiss* :|

Yes it's very weird selling cars I know. You start thinking...hang on, have you actually read the advert and looked at the pics???? :? :frown:

The other favourite is bidding you on the phone BEFORE looking at the thing, I allways find myself saying...Look, come down, have a look, drive it, then we'll discuss the price

When I sold the 106 I put it on eBay about 11 one night, by the time I woke up some one had paid the asking price. Interestingly, I then had people phone up offering the asking price, and bit more and a bit less. Thus proving the axiom it's worth what people are prepared to pay for it ^_^

I didn't know they did a 106 Axiom, was that a special edition?
