Bejesus, you'd be a lonely old soul driving a Peugeot in the US. They hate the things. Apart from Columbo of course - but he's a bit odd, but nice, kinda

Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery

I follow pug on Twitter (well, someone has to!) and they made a huge song and dance when they were leading the standings in practice, then slaughtered the opposition in qualifying, yet were strangely silent when they lost! The ceased development on the 908 last year, so any faults, problems or performance issues will never be resolved, while the opposition surges forward.
does anyone remember the 207 GTi Le Man special edition of 2008 (I think it was '08)? It was created to celebrate pug willing at LM, but they actually lost to Audi and ended up lookigna bit stupid trying to sell 100 expensive special edition cars to celebrate them becoming first-of-the-losers...

Did anyone else catch the live in-car stuff on the Pug website during the race? It was really good, even if the bloodythirsty frogs insisted on winding the video back & forwards to savour the moment when a pigeon smeared itself over the windscreen at about 240 on the Mulsanne....Welly wrote:someone else wrote:Le Mans, France – With just over 2 hours to go in the 2010 running of the 24 hours of Le Mans, the final factory Peugeot 908 HDi FAP seems to have blown an engine. With a puff of smoke from the right engine bank the Peugeot limped back to the pits and was rolled into the garage with oil leaking massively from the engine bay. Peugeot who have looked virtually invincible all week, and have been faster than Audi all week has seen a repeat win virtually slip away over the last 8 hours. There is one Peugeot 908 HDi FAP left on track run by privateer Team Oreca Matmut. Currently Audi is running 1, 2, 3 and the final Peugeot is about 5 minutes behind, but still pushing hard to make a podium appearance.
I was watching when the final works car's engine let go when about 5 secs from challenging for 2nd. It was a disaster for Peugeot who should hve walked it, but the performance of that car & its drivers, who beat the pole time every other lap for over 12 hours while catching up from an early hold up was amazing.
Almost a race for once

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
