Broken 406 and What Can I Tow?

After 406 number one has been sorted, 406 number 2 has died
My Uncle came down in it last week towing a trailer (nothing too heavy) It's a 2003 HDi 90 and the clutch won't engage tidy and is slipping/vibrating? Not slipping too much but a really bad vibration. Now there was a breaking issue last week on it and it went to a Pug specialist who replaced the the ends of both front driveshafts. Would this be anything to do with it? I'm wondering if it's a DMF issue?
Anyone got any ideas? Going to tow it with my Uncle to my local garage, if not try get it in somewhere asap as we've had to abandon it on my neighbours drive , if it can't be fixed by Friday my Uncle's going to have to kidnap my 406 to go back to Yorkshire for 2 weeks That means I'l have to drive the Focus again :wall:

Right my Uncles also got a trailer, nowt too big this should give you an idea on size...

On my licence is the following catagorys.

• BE
• GH

Would I be able to tow the above trailer on my licence as I may have to get some concrete lintals tommorow :rolleyes:

Car licences obtained on or after 1 January 1997
If you passed a car test on or after 1 January 1997 you're limited to vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes maximum authorised mass towing a trailer up to 750kgs, or a vehicle and trailer combination up to 3.5 tonnes MAM providing the MAM of the trailer doesn't exceed the unladen mass of the towing vehicle. You will need to pass an additional driving test in B+E if you wish to tow a caravan or trailer combination which exceeds these weight limits.

90s don't have a DMF mate, just sounds like a knackered clutch to me. Strange that it's occured just after the work's been done though...

The grass is dead, that thing in the pot accross the road is dead (the dormer bungalo with the wooden balustrading).
