HDi 90 vs TD Clutches?

Post by Bailes1992 »

A common mod on the 306 forum is to put the 306 HDi gearbox on a 306 TD with the TD's clutch fork, flywheel and clutch.
We think my Uncles DMF has died on his 406 so wondering would we be better getting the solid item from the 406 TD, along with clutch fork and clutch and putting it in his HDi.

Anyone spare any throughts on this please?

Right theres a constant scream comming from the gearbox, when I got in the car the clutch was on the floor, I picked it up and it seemed to operate fine again. Scream still there though. Moved it to the other side of the drive and theres a smell of burning and the clutch seems to slip.

Dual-Mass Flywheel
a type of flywheel where the rotating mass is split into two pieces. These are joined by a damping mechanism to disperse torsional vibration from the crank shaft.

Thanks Highlander for the straight reply

is it only good for a HDi then or would it be good for a TD ?
