32" Widescreen Television will it fit in the boot?

Post by aust250378 »

Hi all,

Sorry I couldn't find an appropriate section for the question(mods feel free to move!)

My old TV has packed up, and I have bought a cheap replacement CRT 32" from ebay. Whats the likelyhood of it fitting in the boot? I know the boot is long, but not deep being a saloon. I could use my wifes mondeo hatchback if all else fails, but in the peugeot the TV can be collected on the way home from work.

Thanks

Austin

Although the seats fold down in the saloon the entry angle at which you slot stuff through is not very good and can have things getting stuck half-way. Sometimes I had to use the rear passenger doors to post big things through and then shove back down into the boot that way.

Having said this I still have no idea if a 32" TV will fit in

Possibly not the Saloon.

I fitted a 26" widescreen CRT TV in the back seats with them folded a few days ago.

The tightest squeeze was getting it in and out of the door aperture.

TV stand fitted nicely into the boot.

It depends on how "deep" it is too. This is one of the last Panasonic CRTs and is almost as deep as it is wide
whereas the old 32" square CRT is about 3/4 the depth.

The Xantia used to be handy for jobs like this. Cookers, Fridges etc.

I'd just stick it on the back seat. We got a 50" plasma in a Golf Mk4 with 3 people and a baby in. :cheesy:

Could you not just swap cars with the wife one day? I'm gonna have to do that to collect a bathroom suite we've just won on eBay.

I can't get a 28" Widescreen CRT in mine, but was able to get a 46" LCD in no problem :D

It won't fit, if my telly is anything to go by. Mine does go very snugly on the back seats though :)

If you do back seat it, just remember to put a belt around it save it twatting you in the back every time you brake ^_^

Presuming it's an LCD/plasma and boxed, you could get it in through the front door, drop the rear seats, manoeuvre it round 90 degrees and over the front seats and into the boot, then possibly get the back seats back up again... or call a taxi
