Climate control

Post by Japster »

HAd my air con tested and all ok, correct ammount of gas etc but when the car is running the air con switches on and off, is this normal? When set to 14 degrees the air con takes a while to cool down and goes on and off also even when set to full speed on the fans and the auto option turned off. Is there a relay or some control box for the air con anywhere?

Do you mean the fan switches on and off?

Nah the air con goes off and on the fan stays constant. The temperature of the air goes up and down and the compressor goes on and off periodically

The air coming out of mine seems to stay fairly constant, perhaps it's the little sensor fan fing in the overhead console needing a clean :?

It's normal for the compressor to regularly 'cycle' on/off but the air at the face vents should remain consistent. An air temp of between 5 and 8 deg C is a good benchmark for a healthy system.

You cant take the temp on the climate controls further down than 14 degrees though, it stops there.
