That's frickin' sweet. You really need a 4x4 to get around Southampton's "roads".

Pussies!!

Dont even get me started, you dont know how lucky you are,you think its bad over there well you havent seen anything, you live in bloody luxury you wouldn't know a bad road if it bit you,you are all bloody pansies with your tarmac and white paint, you see a hole and complain about it, here there is not a single piece of tarmac over 2 metres in length that isn't peppered with holes of well over 6 inches deep, and thats if the road has tarmac in the first place let alone the things they class as roads without ant tarmac topping or reasonable level surface, you want to try just after winter thats when its at its worst you can see where the winter has eaten away all the patches from last summers repairs...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Apologies rant over, hope you get it sorted Puggy mate

Sadly i think so too Puggy :(

its only the state of the roads over here that have forced my hand into selling off the 406 and purchasing something a bit more suitable, lets just hope it lasts the next two months till i make my next return visit to the UK and have a chance to pick up something for the right kind of money

just a thought but did your drop rods sound or feel like they needed doing before it all went bang Puggy?

When you get it done Puggy do let us know the outcome both financially and physically please mate, Im always curious/nosey about these things

Had a very slight knock about 2/3 weeks ago and when i looked there
was a little play in the offside drop link , everything else seemed fine ,
any suggestions on where the best place to source parts would be welcome

I use eurocarparts, off the A500 by Asda. They tend to have most stuff in stock, and can get other stuff next day.

If you need parts delivering, give me a shout :)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I live in the boonies and the roads are terrible.

I'm tempted to by a Discovery to waft across the devastation, but then we get a**e f****d for tax instead. We can't win.

I might have to seriously consider something squishy and wafty next time if our roads don't improve. I literally wince at the smash I get if I happen to miss dodging a pot hole. In fact I'd say my excellent 'looking ahead' at the roads has reduced somewhat to looking 'just up ahead' for holes :frown:

One thing I've started doing is keeping half an eye on the guy in front's rear sussy - if I see that wheel thump up/down I get ready to dodge
