Mileage Correction

Hi Guys, I have a 1996 1.9 TDLX car and i recently had problems with the clocks just sticking at 40 mph no matter what speed i was doing and also the rev counter sticking at 2K i bought some more clocks off ebay that seem to be working fine but they are 260K and i need the mileage correcting to the original clocks, can anyone help please?? I am located in the North east but would also be willing to post the clocks as i have access to my wife's car for work!

is the 260 the two lots of miles added together?

Unfortunately not!! I have 2 choices to try and fix the clocks that are not working or correct the ones that have mega miles!! :roll:

The clocks with the 260K are out of the car as i am not using it atm due to this problem so any help would be much appreciated.... Cheers! :)

As far as I'm aware, there's no way of correcting the mileage, at least for a DIYer. A dealer might be able to do it though, although they may only be able to do it with a brand new cluster

There used to be mileage correction companies about (look in the Autotrader adds, in the paper version) only this time you'd actually have a kinda genuine reason to change the mileage unlike some of their 'customers' :roll:

I think it costs about £60.00 to 80.00 ?
