Had me 2.2 Sri estate mot'ed today and it was noted that the front brake ballance was out. When the car was up in air we then noticed that the passenger side disk on the inside was only getting pressure from half the pad, and the drivers was the same only not so bad- about 3/4 pressure.
The car still passed the test as the efficiency was still good. The tester advised new pads and disks on the front but my questions are:
-what could cause this odd wearing?
-as the imballance is not noticeable under hard breaking, is it anything to worry about or have I just been lucky?
-is this a sign of further problems to come?
Is it easy to change the pads and disks? I'm competent with the spanners but I've never worked on a 406 with the brake assist.
Cheers in advance.

Re: 2.2 sri estate brake questions
Hiya mate, mine did the same but I did never did find out why, always assumed it was something to do with the pad wear sensor connection.

Changing the discs and pads is easy.
