What I'd like to drive (Pugs Excluded)

Post by CountryPug »

Thought I'd post this wee list up for some fun. It's basically my three favourite saloon cars, which I like to imagine I'd drive if I wasn't a skint student 8)

Here they are in order of preference:

1. Jaguar XFR

2. Audi RS4

3. Saab 93 Turbo X

Present - 95' 405 GLX TD

Aston Martin DBS V12 Volante - like this one, but either in Piano Black or in British Racing Green:

I'm with you on the new Jaguar XFR. That's a damned hot saloon, that one.

Also, I kinda like the older-style Jaguar XKR (from about 2001 - 2003):

That said, if someone offered me the newer-style XKR for free I'd rip their arm off just to get to the car keys quicker (now THAT'S gratitude 8))
2002 (D9) Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, 2.2 litre Petrol. Scarlet Red/Rouge Ecarlate/Rosso Scarlatto. Black Leather interior. SOLD :(
2008 (E60 LCI) BMW 525i M-Sport, 3.0 litre Petrol. Carbonschwarz Metallic. Black Dakota Leather and Myrtlewood interior.

I've driven the XFR and XKR (my bro-in-law is a jag designer) and RS4. Never driven a SAAB Tubbie X, but had several SAAB tubbies, including a Carlsson. Be interesting to see where they go now they're free of GM ownership.

I fancy trying the following, something a bit different to the mass produced norm:

1). Reliant Robin or Regal. I mean, they gotta be a laugh.

2). Grinnal Scorpion. Ooh la la!

3). A G Wiz, just to see if there is any fun whatsoever to be found lurking in there.

I want a white Lada Riva with a V12 mounted where the rear seats should be, "bin bag effect" engine cover, 4 exhaust pipes exiting underneath through massive silencers, double-glazed windows, massive soundproofing, and a loud petrol lawnmower under the bonnet

More realistically I'd take an Aston with a GT3 for fun
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Only if your idea of a laugh involves the car feeling like it's going to roll on its roof no matter how slowly you take the corner :?

Just leave the original 1.6 in there, the sound is the same :cheesy:

No Peugeot allowed? Then a Citroen of course!

A C6 with that nice V6 HDi but I insist on a manual transmission. And I want it in red -- which they discontinued.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

It's gotta be the 3.0 HDi though - the 2.7's a bit underwhelming.

Been web browsing with this thread in mind, and I've decided that for sheer balls out insanity, the Light Car Company Rocket is the one to choose.

A C6 Automatic in Black with Cream leather, dont know wheather diesel or petrol because an LPG kit would be good on the petrol, and a CX Series 2 in the Prestige LWB trim. A rover SD1 vitesse in red. And An Alfa 159
