Radio Decode

Post by FarmerPug »

If i buy a clarion cd player radio and put it into the dash in place of my clarion tape player, where do i go to get the radio decoded or vin unlocked, and will the clarion cd player (still the genuine one for the 406) still work with the jbl sound system to the full extent of what the jbl unit is all about, and will i also still be able to use my multichanger. Is this possible, and can private garages do the computer stuff as opposed to the dealer, and if no how much money would the dealer deprive me for a simple job like this

Don't know on where you are planning to buy the cd player, but seems to be a lot of sellers on ebay selling them who will as part of the sale code them to your car, by supplying them with your vin no.

Most VIN coding sellers I can find are "auctions" proper. Found a "buy it now". Now all I need is my VIN. Wheres the V5 when you need it!

I bought the radio off them and they will unlock it.

But I'm sure he could come to some arrangement if you sent your radio + ££s his way?
Contact and see?

Hi Everyone,
When I worked for a used car dealer, we had a radio man who called once a week and recoded all the radios in the new intake vechicles, so any car radio shop should be able to recode it for you.
Regards,
Nuffield
