Fuel pump/sender assembly 2.0hdi 2000

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Fuel pump/sender assembly 2.0hdi 2000

Post by mckeown »

My fuel gauge just reads low all of the time and i want it fixed asap. My car is a 200 2.0 hdi does anyone know if the pump and sender can be replaced independently? also as mine is a 90bhp is it likely to have a particle filter as this affects the price of the new pump by 100% of the value of the non particle filter pump?

Hi there. They didn't fit a particle filter to any 90 (and we've yet to come across one fitted to a 110). Depends if it's a Siemens, they don't have lift pumps, but if it's Bosch then I'm afraid they're all one big lump.

yeah the car is a bosch system! however the guy in the autoparts place said the pump for the non particle filter was £70 compared to £150 for the cars with a particle filter! hope thats the case!

It will be the cheaper one and the pump and sender unit are all in one (it's a good idea to change the pump anyway as they pack up at around 120,000 miles).

The Particulate Filter pump will have extra parts I suppose to do with the eoloys fluid control etc??

i dont know if this is much help, but my fuel gague got stuck on empty so i parked the car on the kerb, crawled under it, and give the tank a good thud about 10 times with my hand, unbelievably it solved the problem
