Stop light on dash

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Stop light on dash

Post by flyerdave »

My red stop light stays on.

Does anyone know what may be the reasons for this?

The car seems to be running fine, I had the cam belt changed last week and did not notice this light was on before.

cheers

The stop light usually reports problems with oil pressure or high temperature. Also lights up in combination with other lights on the dash. Driving in this state isn't a good idea. Go and make a diagnostic check to see wxactly what's wrong.

Cause found - the connector to the fluid reservoir had not been put back correctly

Why is it so hard these days to get people to do their job correctly? :!: I paid £263 to have a cam belt and water pump replaced, it took them two days to do it and they can't even replace a connector.

Is there any hope left for this country?
