Chrome Door mirrors

On some cars there is chrome on the external wing mirrors as opposed to the normal matte black or colour of the paintwork, has anyone ever done this to a 406 and what does it look like?

That's weird, I was only thinking the same thing as bored to death driving back down M6 a short while ago.

I need my mirror covers touching up, and was contemplating whether to try it out

i seen m3 ones on when i typed it in on ebay but they look a bit (sh one t) especially considering that you loose electric control and they are rediculosly small and made for an m3 not other cars, but surely theres just a chrome cover for the front, audis seem to have plenty of them as do some vw and i also seen it on the hilux

Never seen chrome wing mirrors on the 406.
On higher specs they are colour coded. Perhaps you saw one with its mirror covers painted silver?

I think i'll have a word with the guys who did my door handles and dash and see if they paint anything in chrome

Doubt it, as usually plastic parts are plated rather than painted chrome, but can't hurt to ask.


Blue, yes it is a case of the 406 never having chrome door mirrors, but if you look on ebay there are aftermarket versions available for example as said above in an M3 stylee



I don't believe 406executivehdi is saying he seen one at all, but that there are a number of cars around at the mo with chrome covers, and is interested in "if" anyone has done it

no i never seen chrome mirror covers on a 406, i am just discussing this first to even see if it looks right on a 406
