So,
My cluster is playing up on my D8 - Needle is getting stuck on 70 KPH which is getting very annoying.
I have two options:
1) Depending on price, get the cluster repaired - probably the PCB needs resoldering (which I'm a total n00b at)
2) Buying a second hand cluster off a wreck...
If I go for option 2 - Will the mileage off my car, add to the mileage of the new cluster? Or is that only for D9's? I don't want to end up with a figure which is around the 400k mark...
Can clusters be reprogrammed within Peugeot Planet - to represent the accurate mileage?
Cheers,
STALLED

Could be a knackered speedo sensor on the gearbox as well.

Re: Instrument Cluster Swap
Giving the speedo cluster a "whack" - results in it going back down to what speed it is meant to read. Sometimes it seems to get jammed on the 70 KPH mark?

Re: Instrument Cluster Swap
In that case, sounds like a dry joint on the PCB.

Re: Instrument Cluster Swap
From memory
you inherit the mileage from the donor cluster, it doesn't get added on.

Re: Instrument Cluster Swap
There are several threads regarding re-soldering the cluster PCB, including one with pwetty pictures, IIRC...

I also think that's the case for D8steamster1975 wrote:From memoryyou inherit the mileage from the donor cluster, it doesn't get added on.
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I'll investigate the soldering of the PCB - Though I haven't soldered everything since 2004...
