My 406 is off to a better place

Post by CountryPug »

Just like the title says, it actually is off to a better place, the paint booth to be exact :cheesy: Its in for the next few days to get the patchy bonnet and scratched front wings resprayed. Hoping to keep the car going for a couple of years so it seems like a worthwhile task to give the old girl a freshen up. Here's hoping for a good job. Pic below is of the peeled lacquer and sketchy paint, I believe this was a poor respray earlier on in the cars life before it joined our family.

Ooh, nice one - it'll be like new when it comes back.

I wouldn't like to be around when the first stone-chip comes a'knockin

Toppy Tippy actually: I've been hanging-back at least 6 or 8 car lengths all the time and can report much, much fewer stone chips in the last 18 months (easier on the condenser too).
Cars in my care:

2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work

Nice one! Keep meaning to get mine sprayed, especially the nearside doors, but £££s hold me back.

Yeah can't wait, feels odd not seeing it when I look out the kitchen window.lol. The first chip will be hateful but there are enough others over the car so it'll just help it blend :D

Tell me about it, if this is a good job then i'm considering getting the sills and the lower part of a rear door sprayed. Have recently noticed the paint starting to chip here too, nice spots for rust to start :S luckily getting this done will be alot cheaper than the bonnet and wings :)
