Hi all,
Just got my 406 hdi estate 2000 reg, its ex taxi with 191000 miles on clock. Runs great nice car but have noticed engine covers are missing and want to know best place to get them as want it right!
Please help,
Si
Do you mean the acoustic cover over the engine, or the undertray? Either way, scrappy's the only sensible option, but get new fixings. The ones from Renaults are much better than the originals for the acoustic cover. Everybody uses tie-wraps for the undertray.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
Hi, and welcome. I use the the normal fixings for the undertrays - the rear tray ones are fine, but the front tray (bolts into captive nuts) wear out every few years and need to be ground off and replaced. But I'm sure you could use tie-wraps. Regards, Springnuts.
Hi all and thanks for welcome!
yeah its the big cover which goes over top of engine, watching one on ebay at the moment! will get new fixings as mine are obviously missing and replacement comes without. my cd player also works somedays and others refuses to work or read a disc so think will have to get replacement for that too. such is life!
