WKD Tram versus Focus

Well along the lines of one of Welly's suggestions this is something i saw on my way to work, or really at one of my appointments really, its the place my wife works and i was in there doing some consultancy work for them when there was a bang outside followed by the unmistakeable sound of train wheels skidding to a stop.............


I guess thats one nil to the train then.

it only just caught the front 8 inches or so of the focus but managed to turn it through 60 degrees no problem at all.


and the train picked up a real nasty scratch to its front end

only problem was the track runs directly across the entrance to the Yard and parking area, I was stuck in there with the bloody wife for another hour and a half extra whilst we waited for the Police and the Guy from the Train company to come and inspect the damage

The driver of the Focus is fine just a little embarrassed, and its a company car anyway so no real harm done, and the driver of the train, well he ambled up having a fag like it was an everyday thing to him, which in all honesty I wouldnt be surprised if it is, as over here they have a very different approach to Health and safety when it comes to railways and the like.Luckily for the driver of the focus these things trundle along at less than 25 miles an hour or so, so it doesnt so much as smash into you more like just pushes you out the way.

Oh well just another day in crazy Poland.

Just goes to show, you should never pick a fight with a train.

Up close and personal you say welly, there is nothing between the tracks and the public here mate, not a fence to be seen, these things are treated just like trams in the city centres the tracks wind over roads through peoples gardens infact anywhere the bloody want, I guess its a hangover from the communist days. I have even seen then stop in peoples gardens to drop people off to rate then walking 200 metres back from the next authorised stop. No such thing as level crossings for these bad boys, they seem to viewed as just busses that run on rails rather than trains. As for it being written off, well I will let you know as I have another meeting there next week and will ofcourse be enquiring about the state me play re the focus.its bent all the subframe at least I reckon, just look at the deformation of the wing the train didnt touch.
