That's like going into PC World and asking advice on buying a computer

I've been with Cabletel/NTL/Virgin for quite a few years and never had a problem :)

Thanks for all your input, guys. 8)
I'm convinced - I'll stick wiv Virgin Media, (who have now offered to transfer the service FOC). Customer service isn't everything, after all we Pug owners have learned to do without it, (or have 2nd mortgages to pay for it).

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)

virgin media is the UKs best internet provider, no1 can beat their service on that

however its just a shame their customer services are diabolicle, i left vigin media 8 months ago and am now with SKY for all 3

my reason for leaving virgin media, (you may wanna watch out for this as they have a very good track record for doing it)

was with virgin for 2 years, meant my 12 month contract was up and i could cancel at any time i like, however i started to get this phone call off virgin asking if i wanted free tv for 3 months, (every channel) at the time i only had phone and internet, anyway i said no i didnt want free tv as i didnt watch tv much, 2 days later i get the same phone call , again i said no, you guessed it 2 days later i got same phone call so ,,,,, i finally give in and said ye what the hell free tv for 3 months what can i loose, little did i know it was a trap , when i got the tv box and installed it that automatically renewed mea new contract, anyway 6 months later i finally got a plasma tv and wanted sky HD, so i rang virgin up to cancel my net and phone but guess what i,, i couldnt cancel because their free tv offer renewed me a new contract which they never said at the time.......of offering me this 3 months free tv

trap or what ?

sky have the best customer service from my view,

but if i had the choice between virgin and BT (virgin win hands down)

Really? Bloody hell I must have missed something because my Virgin Media service regularly cuts out, is subject to draconian throttling, only supplies one IP address, doesn't have static IP addresses, doesn't give you control over reverse DNS, doesn't support IPv6, is highly contended, doesn't give raw TCP port 80 access (instead being transparently cached), has pathetic "support" from muppets who can't even speak English, has no SLA, doesn't allow multiple connections per site making fault-tolerant operation impossible...

Certainly doesn't qualify as "best" in my book
