Camping in Dorset!

Post by teamster1975 »

Just back today from a week camping near Poole in Dorset, the weather was 50/50 rain and sunshine but we all had a great time! :)

The car got us there in fine fettle, my god it was a squeeze getting all the gear in!
Image

Managed to get the boys to sit still for a minute or two!

Proof that we did have a little bit of sunshine!

Looks like fun :cheesy: I have fond memories of camping in North Wales with my dad and bro when I was a nipper

(you know, constant rain, huge slugs, falling in mountain streams, finding dead sheep, that kind of thing  )

Looks nice

My misses refuses to go camping after an incident with a rat in the tent when she was a kid

Then again, she doesn't want to go in a caravan, because she can't wash her hair properly :frown: :cheesy:

Although to be fair, I can't go camping as I have sleep apnea, and I need electricity for my CPAP machine, otherwise things could get very dicey
Well, I could.....but a generator running in the middle of the night wouldn't go down too well on the campsite would it

I'm quite lucky because my wife loves camping, we used to go to quite a few motorbike rallies before the kiddy winks came along.
The weather last Sunday night was diabolical, quite a few people left the site on Monday morning! Not too good bearing in mind it was our second day there
Still, the tent didn't leak at all ( :D :D ) and we got on the beach. That's good enough for me!

Now there's a man who needs an estate. The stuff it is possible to get in the back is truely amazing. Love the pic of you and your boys. Camping in this country is brill if the weather is kind.

I thought midlife crisis was when you rushed out and bought a completely impractical sports car in a vain attempt to recapture your lost youth

Depending on the power requirements, you could always look into running one off batteries... Either a little Halfords power pack if it eats a couple of watts, or for a couple of hundred watts or so you could probably run it off a car/truck/boat battery and inverter for a fair amount of time (and then charge it back up off your car with its engine running)

Heh me and the missus have already been discussing how soon we can take the little 'un to Wacken festival

Pffft camping in the rain is fun! You just need a tent with a decent porch area or a £10 tesco value gazebo, beer, a stove and pot noodles 8)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Check on all counts, I had my first "bombay bad boy" pot noodle whilst away & I'm hooked! That and they were selling local cider dirt cheap at the camp shop :cheesy:

You're right chaps, I do need to get an estate. Especially with no 3 on the way!
I haven't started looking yet, it breaks my heart as I've put so much work into the tubby but needs must and all that :(
I'm not sure whether to go for a D8 or D9; now that Matt and Doggy have cracked PP2000 I might take the plunge :supafrisk:
