Re: URGENT still need relay layout help
right no rush got it sort, well sort of. after much searching(mainly on here) found where some of the relays were living. ah ha!!! found 3, and knowing from a previous thread on here the hidden blue relay was the wipers and they were fine. So now hanging upside down i can see one long white relay, a short yellow relay and a medium sized yellow relay.
so out with the white one, no change, everything worked, replaced.
out with the small one, no change, everything worked, replaced.
out with the medium sized one, ah burnt out so bad couldn't even get the relay apart, in the bin.
so we found an old fan relay which would do to test, but was concerned that the relay plug was badly burn too. anyway tried the fan relay and what do you know, the window and sunroof now open but because the relay was the wrong one i pulled it out temp till i sourced a new window one, plus it left the battery warning light on even when the keys were out the ingnition. great brillant, then hubby pressed the window button, as you do expecting full well it won't work with the relay out, you can imagine our supprise when the window opened, tried the sunroof and that worked too. So the burnt relay wasn't the window one after all. so it's either the little one or the long white one and all i can conclude is that pulling the relays out and refitting them made a bad contact good, anyway the middle sized yellow one is actually the rear heated screen, which was working the day before but now longer, just glad it didn't catch fire. anyway seeing as the weather is still fine i will leave it for now and find a replacment relay and re-wire the plug before fitting. Ty for all those who viewed and helped on the previous thread for me. I thought i'd put my findings down just in case anyone else has a simular problem and this might help.
