I think you need coloured bulbs because the plastic covers are clear: I failed my last MOT because the side repeaters weren't orange enough! (The orange coating had worn off the bulbs.)

How do you get in to change them anyway? I tried pulling the plastic cover, but it wasn't for moving.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

I think he misunderstood yours :cheesy:

@ rwb: The repeaters seem to unclip, although it doesn't feel like they're happy about it. Might be safer to undo the arch liners at the back of the arch and undo the repeaters from the inside as there's less chance of fubarring them.

@Lofty: I can't believe nobody's done this before  There's all sorts on evilbay, every combination imaginable it would appear.

I purchased a couple of Philips blue vision headlight bulbs when i got the 406, great job over standard. Anyway two blue vision sidelight bulbs were included, basically your normal sidelight bulb with a light blue coating. When they are on they burn nice and white :D

You can't see how white they are in that pic very well, but they are nice when it goes dark 8)

I put multi-chip led's in my sidelights, then thinking I'd banish the short-lived W5 bulb menace / fragile number plate lights nightmare, put some in there too. :cheesy:
The number plate ones lasted about 3 months, the sidelights - about 12

Back to 'normal' now. :?

2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)

no2lurch: I misunderstood, sorry

steve_earwig: ta, I'll have a rummage about tomorrow.

CountryPug: I tried some blue lights last year but I thought they were crap. Maybe your Philips ones are better than the ones I had.

Have been thinking about getting LEDs too.
