Unusual Interior Mod
Someone on the 407 forum has managed this:
http://www.407owners.com/forums/viewtop ... f=4&t=1835
If you read further down it turns out that saloon seats will fit into the SW too.
Has anybody been brave enough to try any of these on a 406. If saloon rear seats fitted the estate & vice versa it would make interior upgrades easier, but wouldn't it be great to have the sports seats from the coupe in a saloon or estate?

That's quite cool, like a kinda 2+2 arrangement.
I didn't know there was a 407 forum

Gluttons for punishment?
I had a squint in Service "wherethefeck'severythinggonenow?" Box, the rear seats in the 407s all have different part numbers but look more-or-less the same, the 406s however, you sure it's the same car?

Re: Unusual Interior Mod
The coupé's rear seats won't fit - that part of the cabin's completely different, and you wouldn't want to anyhow as you'd get less comfortable seats and lose the middle seat which on the coupé is a very uncomfortable lump of plastic that won't take a person's weightwaue1978 wrote:Has anybody been brave enough to try any of these on a 406. Also you wouldn't want the coupé's front seats in a saloon/estate because they're less comfortable and have no armrest. Quite often I think about sticking saloon/estate exec seats in my coupé though... but then I wouldn't be able to get anything or anyone in the back...
It would be interesting to see if the folding rear bench from an estate would go into a saloon though - being able to fold the seats flat would be a nice upgrade
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: Unusual Interior Mod
I wouldnt mind in the back of my exec to just remove the middle seat, and have some 4 seater grand tourer back, with a centre console going through the whole way and climate controls in the back, but then i thought its still a peugeot not a maserati.

Everyone, and I do mean everyone, who has sat in my coupe has commented on the comfortable seats. The rear ones get the most praise as they are comfy and hold you realy well for sharp corners.
Since fitting Leather, the compliments on comfort have only increased.
I've sat in my car for 4 hours solid due to bad weather (snow storms just before Christmas 2009) and got out feeling as fresh as a daisy, no aches, no pains.
A sign of a good seat!

Re: Unusual Interior Mod
I have to back up Blue here - the leather coupe seats are pretty damned comfy, definitely better than the cloth seats in my saloon (my back starts hurting after an hour or so of driving in my car).
I know this cos I went down and met him.
The gentleman that he is helped me out by installing the silver door handles (a task that should have taken about an hour, which ended up taking up most of the day), swapped out my dog-chewed rear door grab handles on my exec door cards, showed me how I screwed up fitting my leather gear gaiter (and fixed it for me afterwards), replaced bulbs, etc, and backed up my suspicions by confirming that my car is a total bitch to work on.
Also, I got a quick tour of THE scrapyard (stupid little bit of plastic broke off on the door locking mechanism, hence the trip to the scrappy), and obtained a pair of exec light-up sun visors and a pair of JBL 6x9 speakers out of a Coupe (as well as the door grab handles and plastic bits) for £20 the lot.
Thanks again for all your help!

Re: Unusual Interior Mod
That is one hell of a good scrapyard - loads of hard to find bits & they don't charge too much for them either.
Are you sure it's a scrapyard & not just a car park with some pikey that goes & steals the bits you want?

Considering you go in an get the bits yourself, come back to the desk and show them what you've got... that would mean you're calling me a thieving pikey
