At the maternity ward 3 months early :O

Post by teamster1975 »

My wife is 5 1/2 months pregnant, we had a scare at 12 weeks when she started having contractions.

Phone call from my wife yesterday morning saying that it has started again, took her to the early pregnancy unit and they got her on the monitors and indeed they are not Braxton Hicks but the real deal. They examined her and the cervix isn't dilated, her waters haven't broken either thank goodness.
They kept her in last night and gave her steroid injections to promote development of babies lungs and medication to hopefully stop the contractions. Got her back home now as there is nothing more they can do, we've just got to keep our fingers crossed and hope she doesn't go into labour.

My nerves are in tatters :|

Don't say I blame you, Teamy.

Congratulations for when he/she finally makes up his/her mind and decides that he/she wants to be born, though, and good luck to yourself and Mrs Teamy for when that happens.

Babies are like cats sometimes - they want out, you open the door, they stay put and stare at you til you close the door and walk away - then they want out again...

Good news the initial scare is over, hope everything turns out OK, just not quite yet.
The uncertainty must be hard, we're all crossing fingers & toes / paws etc.
Tell Mrs Teamy she'll have to hang on for a bit, cos you've still got to find an estate. :P

Thanks very much guys, I'm really at my wits end and although I've never met any of you I consider you all mates :)
Emma's Mum & Dad have come up to take Marcus (our youngest) for a few days, hopefully that will give her enough time to take it easy & recuperate.
Sod it, I'm going to crack a beer open!

Holy Cow Teamy,

Glad you are all back at home and under medical/alcoholic supervision, I have all my digits crossed for you mate,
now chop chop and get that estate sorted out, the tribe is going to increase sooner or later (hopefully later  ) and you will be needing the space.

All fingers, paws and claws crossed here. Now, as an estate owner with 2 kids, trust me, you will need one! Thinking of you both.
