New 406 owner 110 HDi

Post by chrisk »

Put deposit down on 406 S 2.0HDi. This will be the 2nd 406 i've owned, previous one being a 406 1.9TD LX. Hope to pick up a week or so. Paid 2k for 53 plate with 79k on clock with partial historty, is this a good price? Test drive went ok, spotted a knocing on N/S rear and upon checking found the rear wheel knocked when rocked top to bottom? Said this would be sorted. Interior nice and clean, exterior has a few screatches and a couple of dings.

Welcome in Chris! Sounds like you've got a lot of car for the money! 8)
Play in the rear wheels is a common fault, it's the top stabiliser rods. Pretty easy fix, I've just done mine!

Looking back, in 2006 I paid £3,395.00 for a then 7 year old, 96K mile, Exec with full history so your car in comparison is quite a good deal.
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work
