Spade terminals

Post by pfusi1 »

Hi, I'm trying to repair the block connector that connects the heater blower and the thermostat etc, etc. Its a big block connector under the glove box compartment and it has a black and red wires going in one side and green/yellow and biege (I think) coming out the other.

Anyhow, my father-in-law couldn't be bothered to remove the wires from the block connector so simply cut them off (to test for continuity etc). Anyhow, I'd like to restore the wires back to how they should be but I can't find the right spade connectors anywhere. Short of going to the dealers does anyone else know where to get these spade connectors from?

They have longer 'blades' than normal spade terminals and seem to be more slender as well. Any help would be much appreciated!

Sounds like a plan.

Oh and confiscate your father-in-law's wire cutters next time you see him. :frown:

If it's the same as my bro's D8, it had a 4 or 6-way plug / socket connector with bigger receptacles for the 2 main power connections - you would only get these as part of the connector assembly. (I bodged his by squashing them a bit to tighten them up).

You could possibly cut the wires off the other side of the connector, replacing the plug / socket with your own male / female spade connectors. Make sure you use some hefty ones for the 2 power leads.
