Bit of a scare today

Post by TooT »

Huge blow out

That wheel was on this, a 3 tonne 17 meter Access Hoist.

It went with a hell of a bang and the hoist went into a massive snake, luckly for me i wasn't going that fast because of the fog so i could slow the rig down without it flipping onto its side or pushing me into a jackknife. I got pulled into a farm entrance pretty safely with loads of stares from the motorist behind me. As i sat there waiting for rescue it dawns on me that what could of happened if things were different like, speed, road condition, car coming other direction, i could of been sat in a right heap of twisted metal.

Quid on the lottery tomorrow me thinks.

Yeah, the hoist only have a single axle for maneuverability but the plant trailers we have are twin axles, i have had blow outs on them a few times with not much drama at all.

Knowing the roads around your way Tooty, if you'd have been on one of the big descents and had the blow-out it could've got tasty as the weight on the rear of your truck would've shifted and lightened the back end. There's also very little room for error on them there roads :o

Speaking of the Lotto, did I hear correctly that ONE PERSON won £113M on the Euro-millions? that's a whole lotta dollar  ..............I wonder if it was Tooty? :cheesy: :cheesy:

I've always really liked Tooty, in fact I could class him as my best friend to be honest, yeah, I would do pretty much anything to help him out with whatever he wanted really, yeah, really really nice guy and a great pleasure to deal with in all cases.
