They're a good price and a good addition to any car.

I had some goodridge lines on a car years ago and they made the brakes feel much more direct and responsive.

Nothing to do with your brakes needing bleeding? :P

Oops, wish I hadn't looked now :( Anyone care to hazard a guess why the front brake lines would be different on a car with a Ate m/cylinder to one with a Teves?

Normal flexi hoses 'bulge' a bit under load but the braided ones don't so the hydraulic effort is sent more readily to the caliper piston without that delay/bulge effect.

But I'm sure you knew that........ :P

Nooo, really?Image

I can't find anyone that actually lists 406 brake lines to compare, except GSF who only do ones for the Brembos. Oh, and they all differ left to right dispute being the same length, what's that about?

Anyway, enough of this tomfoolery, time to go outside and do something vigorous before shrinkage sets in :(

yes they are a good price and a top addition to any car for not much more than a set of gsf rubber one costs

Those ones for the V6 Coupé's Brembo callipers are wrong. They need to have a short length of tubing with a sharp 90 degree bend at the calliper end.

These manufacturers all seem to copy other manufacturer's pattern parts instead of the genuine Peugeot parts, and they ALL have it wrong as a result.

they dont need to have the metal pipe on at all.

some suppliers use a standered conventional union that goes in straght on the caliper, we use a banjo end with an angle on it and a bolt through it.

the angle throws the hose away from the caliper so it doesnt rub on it.
the same brembo caliper is used by a number of other manufacturers and they all have the hose coming directly from the caliper with out the RIGID pipe.

we have supplied around 10 sets of this design of hose now and have had no problems

Ahhhhh Ok I misread your post and thought the bottom image referred to the V6 Brembo jobbie. I'm with you now and it looks like a smart solution to the problem...

If I hadn't replaced my hoses last year I'd certainly gvie these a go at the price...

Aye, but they don't use them on cars designed for tiny lucas (i think) callipers  The addition of the Brembo things (iirc it's a re-painted calliper designed for Porsche) was a right hack job by Pininfarina, as the hose fitting is pointed inwards towards the wheelarch lining, which means a nasty 90 degree bend is necessary to avoid smashing the pipe through the wheelarch liner and get it all the way up to the union with the body pipe...

I've put serious thought into replacing my Brembos with the standard 406 jobbies many times before... More trouble than they're worth

Tempting, but no thanks. Occasionally I do drive hard enough to warrant the durability of the bigger units... and those times I'm glad I don't have to endure the stench of tortured friction material nor the feeling of "oh crap" you get when you're hurtling towards a 30mph corner at 60mph and your pads seem like they're more concerned about the fact they're on fire than trying to slow the car...
