Wanted 406 cigarette lighter

Post by mattyf »

I've got alot of driving to do soon and I wanted to use my sat nav, but as my cigarette lighter isn't working (Can't even clean it) I'm after a working/good condition standard 406 cigarette lighter.

Many thanks

Have you checked the fuse? If memory serves new lighters+sockets are only about £12 from dealers, which is probably about what you'd pay 2nd hand with postage...
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I learn't the hard way with Peugeot, when getting stuff, phone the dealer first to get a starting price. It can be difficult to guess what they charge and sometimes its less than you think.

Matty my lighter was fried when I bought the car, which to be honest didn't bother me particularly as I have a usb on my stereo I use for sat nav, however the air ducts for the footwell heaters had taken a battering, quick trip to the breakers with some star drives and a socket wrench and I had the entire centre console for £5, doddle to fit even for a desk jockey like me, if memory serves there is a how to on here somewhere which I had a quick look at before hand. BTW I also read how easy the lighter is to remove on it's own but mine must have been welded in as it wouldn't budge for love nor money ! even having my scrap centre console on a table in front of me I couldn't get the bugger out.

I must repeat I am a desk jockey now (car seat builder in a former life - if you own a 10 year old ford or rover chances are I bodged your seat together so be careful!)

Omega are you stalking me ? :D
We had plants at Halesfield and Stafford Park
I worked at Stafford Park, much cleaner but we got paid less !!!
If I crane my neck I can still see it from my desk but strangely no desire to go back to scraping knuckles, swearing and hammering things anymore

Just reminded me about trips to Longbridge, a great example of 'peace' work, "look I've done some WORK now leave me in PEACE for the rest of the day!"
