Get yourself a samurai, nothing will break on it, the leaf spring suspension in it is as solid as a rock, you will have no motoring bills. It wont break but i think it breaks its driver first, i got out and had a sore back for a week.
By the way the suzukis up and going again, with a vitara 1.6 now in it, and its much better, heres it up beside the hilux for a size comparison:

now why would i want to do that? im a FULLY grown man, i find the disco a bit of a squeeze at times
plus its my daily driver not just a toy, sadly

but things are looking good on the work front just landed a very tidy contract that should enable me to buy something else quite soon, so the disco is going to get the full treatment and be kept as a toy/winter car,
hmm maybe another '6 that would keep the wife happy

still its all good apart from the frozen handbrake there isnt anything that isnt just cosmetic and i reckon the handbrake will dry out on its own in time so alls good with the disco.

the sammy does look small, but its no toy it doesnt get stuck anywhere unless it runs out of petrol. I will admit though its a squeeze in it, the seats are welded into place because of the roll cage and sammies like to fall over which is something ive almost done on a few occasions, but a plus point of being cramped is it is very easy to park, apart from the lack of powersteering, and the fact i took out the rear drums and handbrake cables to save wheight as well as the whole ventilation system, the red brick does the job great now at the handbrake and for warmth a good cup of tea. But for all its discomfort and smallness its basicness is great you can feel every thing its doing.
Though if the suzuki sounds too comfortable that orance renault tractors the one for you, its properly cramped, you hit your head on every bump, its very loud because its an air cooled diesel, and its got too many gears. But it never gets stuck at all, i have managed to put it on its side however.
The hilux isnt bad when you want to go off road but dont want to have a back in 10 pieces, it seems to do as well as the suzuki only it just hasnt attempted everything because its my uncles and still the new jeep, it needs better tyres.
