Just bought 406 LX HDi SW

Post by Roo »

Hello everyone,
My names Andrew and I've recently bought a Peugeot 406 Estate. I am about to start a new job and required a car for economical commuting as its 35 miles away from home. The 406 came along at the right price and time so I bought it. On the way home the clutch failed however. But, after some negotiation the seller (trade) agreed to fit a new clutch. :D To cut a long story short, its had a new clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder and master cylinder. I re-collect it on Saturday. Having driven a few miles in it already, i'm impressed. Its comfy, well equipped, economical and our dog is loving the room in the boot!
Anyway, nice to see an active forum on the 406 so I look forward to having a browse. Picture below!

That looks like a nice one. Just getting one myself for the same reason. What is the less economical car then?

Volvo 850 T5 or a Range Rover Classic 4.2 LSE. Neither of which are particularly economical!

I was quite lucky with the colour really, as it came to me via trade it could have been anything!

Love the T5, but think your making the right choice for a bit of economy.

Thanks for the welcomes. Just completed my first long run in it today. Peterborough to Lockerbie. side from an ABS fault (have posted in the brakes section) the car was faultess. Comfortable, economical and a great car to do the journey in. I got 49.6mpg.
