Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
The tread on my front tyres are getting near their legal limit and I would like to change the wheels now rather than fork out for new tyres for the steelies. I really want a set of pug alloys for the car but from the advice I've received on here before, it seems that using rims from another range will require spacers which I don't want.
Can I clarify that the 16' coupe alloys will fit a D9 saloon ok?
Has anyone fitted the coupe alloys to a saloon on the forum, any pics?

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
Coupe alloys will definitely fit the saloon, but whether you should or not is down to personal taste. My personal opinion is that the starfish wheels don't really suit anything other than the coupe, but people have fitted them to the saloons & estates previously.
Personally I have the later coupe wheels (also found on high spec late estates & saloons) known as Hoggar. Haven't got any pics with them fitted, but here is a pic of the wheels:

They are a 12mm offset & give the car quite a nice wide stance. Actually have 3 sets of alloys now - 2 sets of these & 1 set of Alessio Polars.
One day I'll get round to refurbing a set so that I can have a decent set on the car.

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
Quick update, just purchased some starfish coupe wheels off ebay. Hopefully I will like them when they are on the car. This is the difficulty when choosing alloy wheels

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
personally I like the 16" starfish alloys on a saloon, but then again I'm biased as I have them on mine. If you squint slightly so you can't see the scratches and dents in the old girl they finish her off nicely.
Only negative is I bought them with 215 55 16's on and it was a bit of a pain finding a reasonably priced tyre when I got a bloody great bolt thru one. Will probably change sizes when I can afford a full set.

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
i wouldnt mind a nicer set of alloys, i dont like these ones on my exec, ive seen some 03-04 cars have a nicer 10 spoke design like the starfish ones i think waue said they were called hoggar ones, but is fuel consumption changed with bigger tyres, i think ive got 15s on and all the tyres are brand new pirellis, is the hoggars 15 or 16

Do you mean like the ones in my pic above or do you mean the ones with the thinner spokes? The Hoggars are above & 16ins, but the thinner spoked ones are Ouragan & 16ins if you get them from an S, SE or SRi, but only 15ins if they're off a Rapier.

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
I dont know, my cars an exec and has these alloys on it which i think dont look great. Its a genuine executive but still has these on it, but ive seen the SE ones and they are much nicer. Heres the current ones on my car: (i know it needs cleaned, someones wrote wash me on the back)

Can you determine what alloys these are from this pic?
but is bigger wheels better for fuel economy and comfort, or is the other way round

They are from a LX!
Odd to have them on a late model D9 - Looks like someone has done a swap!

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
My LX had steel wheels when I bought it. Front-only electric windows, no fog lights, no arm rests on the front seats. Stupid bloody early-spec LX. Mean bloody Peugeot. Grrrr
Proper working air-con / digital climate control though
I like those alloys every bit as much as the ones I bought that used to be on a 307.

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
I don't know the name of them, but they're not from an LX - they're the same alloys as Peugeot fitted to most higher spec 406s from the early Rapiers right up to Execs. Personally couldn't stand them as I bought a mint set for my car & never fitted them as the spokes protrude so far out from the tyres & would've ended up ruined after any close kerb parking.

10 spoke aren't, but these 9 spokes are probably the ones you're thinking of:

Bloody hard to find though & make sure you don't get caught out buying 206 Nimrods - they look the same & also come in 16ins, but the larger offset will have the wheels disappearing so far into the arches you'll think somebody stole them!

The Hoggars show a bit of the brakes too. Have a look here to see them fitted:
