Niz, you see, I geniunely love this car, it's my first "proper" car. But I'm someone who's on a never-ending quest for more power... My motorcycle has nearly as much power as this car...

There's a point where gaining any more power from this car will become increasingly difficult both financially and physically, and when I reach that point, I'll be looking to move on, onto another car, with more power to start with... And then soon, I'll be looking to upgrade that too... Ah.

Sure, you're right, I could do anything to this car, I could put a turbo on it, or a supercharger, nos, modifications to heads, valves, etc, but this would cost thousands and thousands of pounds, and would result in (my opinion, although I might be wrong) a car with significantly more power, but, surely, a lot less reliability than the stock car, and it would STILL be 9 or 10 years old and getting older, and by extensively modifying it, I'd just be asking for trouble where more and more components would start failing and need more investment to keep it all running.

An alternative of simply buying another, more powerful car to start with, seems much simpler (and cheaper too) to me, with more satisfaction to be gained with less hassle.

All that said, I still LOVE the "wolf in sheep's clothing" factor this car has, and you're right, it would be awesome if this car could do 5-6secs 0-60. It's really not bad as it is, my friend's got a brand new Golf GTI, and he couldn't lose me one bit on the lights the other day. And he does know how to drive. :)

But the new golf GTi aint that good just ask Jeremy Clarkson or Tiff noodle....lol

I agree with you to a certain extent, but still prefer to be individual with the car and the set up, street sleepers are the best in my opinion, something that looks normal but is fast as f00k ! !

I actually want a bike as well, me and the misses want a Yellow (Limited) ZX6R J1 or J2, they are so nice and fast, light front wheel for mondo wheelies ....lol

I just need to get myself through my direct access and buy one, god I can't wait for a job ... lol being a student sucks these days !

My bro had an unrestricted ZX12R Version A, with a power commander and a few other mods... st00pid 200+ mph bike ! ! thats too fast for 2 wheels....lol

Hayabusa here... But we're veering (pun intended) from the subject... :cheesy:

Any ideas how much doing the exhaust and the induction kit might cost me?

I've seen a turbocharged busa... doing stoopid speeds...

Watch This

I think a zorst will cost between ?400 - ?600 depending where you take it and induction kit.. from ?170ish, I think.

Seen that vid, it's unbelievable.

What gain (in bhp) can I expect then, from doing the exhaust and putting in this induction kit? 15-20? Or does it need more work for that?

How will it affect the torque?

15 - 20 from an Exhaust and Induction kit is like Max Power Claims... I wipe my butt on Max power......lol

Exhaust wise, it depends... poor wuality system, or incorrectly designed system can result in a loss of back pressure, which can result in lower than stock HP figures.

A decent Zorst will see you good between 7 - 12 hp as for the induction kit, well I have seen companies claim upto 15 hp gain from it, but after seeing one on a mates car and banging it on the rollers... some of the claims are unfounded... or in a unit with a cold air feed from a bloody A/C outlet lol

I imagine that with both fitted you could be upto or possibly just over the stock VVT v6 (210hp). but dont take my word for it.... could go both ways depending on which you use, + or - hp !

hmm, see, that's what i meant. :? i could end up spending time and money on this, and have even less bhp as the final result!

maybe i should just save up, then sell this car, and get something faster... ooops, didn't mean to say that in front of you!

As said above power increases vary alot of power on mine was gained by losing the cats, 2 pre cats and 2 normal cats, my system goes from where the down pipe is they grafted a joint part way along it so i can bolt the cats in the manifold is standard but may change that, i`d love to get more out of this engine but just dont have the cash at this time to do it justice but i will i was going to put a body kit on and change wheels but i think i would rather spend money else where.

Good choice... coupes are simply the best without any body kits...

YOu can pick up eatons on ebay from as little as ?100... plus its less modifying than a turbo conversion, no exhaust repiping ! ! Yay ! ! its just a case of designing the installation !
