New Mudguards

I got my new mudguards off the electronic bay, and they are the genuine article peugeot stuff in the box even with a certificate showing they are genuine pug stuff:
i like this certificate, these mud flaps have been sitting in a box since 2003, id love to go to one of these big warehouses full of old parts in brand new condition

So heres the mudflaps at each side:



quick question here, theres a silver clip thing with a bolt on one end that works as a clamp, the instructions instruct one to put it on here at the top of the front mudflaps but i cant seem to get it in there, how is this meant to be done, obviously the bolt head goes on the inside of the wing but the wheel liners in the way, and then one of the screws is mounted to the wheel liner so im baffled, and just didnt put it on, is there any better fixings i could use:

and here they are on the car, the car was dirty before i put them on, i was lazy and just washed the places they were covering:

Seems like a good job, car needs cleaned first to judge how good of course but they look quite smart.
Anyhow i have 4 universal mudflaps never put on the car free to a good home, they will do any pug not just a 406.

Looks like they're well needed out in the sticks baiiii ;)

They do look well, the moulded ones look better than my flappy ones. Tempted to get a bigger, lower set for that "rally driver" look

The universal ones are a tad too big for my car, the dips in the road round here would cause them just to hit the ground all the time so i never put them on, But if you have ones already on, how did you deal with the clip for the top of the mudguard?

They look to be fairly well secured and screwed on, but I can take pictures in the sunlight tomorrow.

This is starting to sound a bit like the gerry anderson show.
Best thing ive heard yet was a man rang in said he was looking a citroen for a wing mirror, gerry assumed it was the other way round but then the man said he seen the mirror on the side of the road and liked it so much he wanted the car that went along with it.
Anyone who isnt in Norn Iron and doesnt have access to Radio ulster or know of this show its about the only funny thing on FM over here, along with folks on the hill.

I'll agree that they don't do a massive amount to keep your car clean (they do a certain amount) but they keep the windscreen of the car travelling behind clean. Following a car with no mudflaps on a wet road is no fun

This is starting to sound a bit like the gerry anderson show.

Gerry is a legend, surprised they're still letting him broadcast before the watershed

A hell of a lotta dirt flies off the top of the wheels and down the sides of the car.

The real problem is the amount of paint that gets grit blasted off the back end of the wheel arch. Bugger the car behind loosing paint off its bonnet and the occasional broken 'screen.

ahy a nice tidy self tapping screw looks better than these very shiny clips which look a bit odd

Nice colour toot, when shopping around for my exec i could only find the dark navy that was the ideal colour.

Is there some sort of association with peugeot being a farmers car, or was that back in the day of the 505
