Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
There are alloys to be had for not a lot of cash; just keep your eyes open. I bought mine from eBay - they were from a 307 that had been scrapped (i.e. wrapped around a tree or something); the wheels are in fairly good condition albeit with some scoring and kerb damage that the last owner put on them.
They look pretty good, and didn't cost me too much money (I think about £100 delivered, if I recall correctly - it was more than a year ago). Could do with some spacers to make them sit in the wheel arches properly, but they look good.
You ought to be able to find some 406 alloys on eBay - loads of them have been wrecked. Also try registering with the Coupe Club (http://www.peugeot406coupe.com/phpBB3/) and get in touch with ade1122 - this guy scraps 406 Coupes and sells them on for parts. He's bound to have alloys, as well as many other parts you may be interested in.

My rapier has the 9 spokes. They come up well when cleaned (this pic taken after a 6 hour drive from Belfast to Milton Keynes then to Silverstone) (Desperately need the rear door painted too)

I was thinking that the multispoke alloys might look well on the 406, give a subtle touring car look?

They do. My 2nd 406 - a 1999 D9 GLX saloon at 3yrs old got treated to a set of 17ins TSW Imola multispokes when I had it & they looked great on it. Got some old photos of it somewhere in the attic.

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
Here are my new coupe wheels. I snapped up a set from ebay. They came with 3 brand new tyres with the other being very good and the peugeot locking nuts. Only a couple of minor scuffs on them, £150
3 new tyres for my steelies would have cost as much
Sorry the cars a bit dirty

The pics don't really do them justice, in real life I think they look the dogs danglys

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
Cheers, yeah they definately give it a more aggressive stance and stick it to the road like sh*t to a blanket (215/55/16). No spacers needed, fitted straight on and I can get full lock with no scrubbing (part of the reason I went for them over 307 wheels).

If i bought 16s would there be much of a market for my old alloys which have new pirellis on them and balanced.

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
Not sure. I would think if you made back the price of the tyres you'd be doing quite well.

Be proud of living in a dirt field
Quick question though. If i have 15s and Move up to 16s is there going to be much of a difference to fuel economy, will it go up or down or is it just negligible the difference.

Re: Coupe alloys on the Saloon?
difference will be negligible. if you move up a rim size, you'll have to move down a tyre size, therefore the wheel diameter will be vary similar. In my case, I changed from a 195/65/15 up to a 215/55/16. Matching the wheels up, the 16' wheel has a slightly bigger diameter but the wider tyre should mean more rolling resistance. Long story short, I don't think you'd see a difference.
