Dash Ends

Does anybody know how to remove the end pieces from the dash? The little coloured bits (grey, beige or black) that you see when you open the doors. Reason for asking is that I'm going to be putting a black leather interior in & don't want the dash to look out of place so am replacing the grey bits with black equivalents. Glovebox & fusebox cover will be easy enough, but not sure on the ends or the little bit of grey I have above the fusebox cover (where the diagnostic plug & headlight leveller sit).

Anyone ever removed these?

Yes they come out easily. Just pop a small screw driver behind them or a small scraper.

I've done exactly what you're on about on my D8. Takes a little while figuring out where all the screws and bolts are to remove the lower panels, but well worth it in the end. One tip though, make sure you get the D9 black leather door cards aswell. Pics can be seen if you click on the link in my sig below.

Getting the lot from the same person. Going to be an adventure wiring up the seats, but had a good look through some of the coupe forums & found some very helpful stuff.

Although just read that the passenger seat (due to lack of memory) has one yellow plug that just needs a +ve & -ve feed. Bearing that in mind, wouldn't it be a much easier job if you just got the passenger seat from a LHD Exec & fitted that instead of a RHD drivers seat?

when i did my leather conversion i used the base frames (bit with the motors in it) from my old electric glx seats without memory,ecu.s etc... so the wiring is kept simple and plugged straight into the cars loom at floor level, as did the heated seat wire.just bolted the new seats to the old bases.
heated seat switches just plugged into existing loom under the coinholder under handbrake..easy! no bsi work needed just plug n play !
my car from new didnt have electric seats..the 1st non leather elecy set just pluged in also as wiring was already there .

Will have to check mine for heated seat wiring then. Doubt if I'll be lucky enough to have a plug & play set up for the electrics though. Shouldn't be too chronic though - passenger seat isn't memory so that'll give me a good pattern to work from.
