Spoiler
Wouldnt mind a spoiler on the end of the boot seen a d8 with one and thought that looked good, only thing is i went to ebay and all it has is tacky shite from hong knong which seems just to be a big slab of rubber which sticks down with a bit of double sided tape, i don't want my car looking like a halfords repmobile. So is there a genuine 406 spoiler available, will i need to paint it (or wire a brake light up if it has one) and hows it mounted to the boot. And the most serious issue how does it affect handling because its pushing down on the back wheels in a fwd car, i dont want to loose the lift off oversteer.

Re: Spoiler
I bought one of the tacky bootlip items, similar to this
http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0150534252
But haven't painted it because I'm struggling to find a colour match in an aerosol paint.

Re: Spoiler
Mine has the genuine 406 D9 spoiler fitted (ignore the dirt and scratches on the paintwork; Saturday was not a good day)

It was designed by the same group that designed the D9, so it complements the style of the car fairly well

The spoiler was sold as an after-market accessory by Peugeot themselves, and was supplied unpainted, just primed. I got mine sprayed at a local body shop and he did the colour-matching perfectly.
Yeoman's (The Peugeot Shop) sell them - they say "Call for Price" but as a guide, the coupe spoiler is £155.65

The spoiler just clamps to your boot lid - no drilling necessary. The only thing to watch for is that it makes the boot lid a fair bit heavier - so be careful when you're closing the boot not to slam it.

Re: Spoiler
Is this the 5 minute argument or the full half hour?
Do these spoilers have any effects or do you need to be driving in excess of 150mph for that to happen?

Re: Spoiler
In my honest opinion, i don't think spoilers suit the shape of the 406 all that well. I searched about to find one I liked a while back and couldnt find anything that pleased me. I saw someone use their initiative and stick a 405 d-turbo spoiler on their 406, looked terrible but made me smile

Re: Spoiler
No effect that I've noticed; I think it adds a little something that was missing from the car, in my opinion.
And it's not a daft-looking spoiler, like some of these gems:

(yes, that Lada has the largest part of a park bench stuck upside-down onto its boot - but it's painted black and yellow, so it doesn't look stupid)

Re: Spoiler
I prefer the lip spoilers. Especially on the D8. It adds a little more depth.
I fancy getting one on my mondeo, although I don't fancy the barry boy speech ;)

Re: Spoiler
Sorry for my lack of knowledge whats the barry boy speech, and that website link earlier for a genuine spoiler was about £80 unpainted.
And if the effects of a spoiler arent noticed until after 150 mph the diesel 406 is safe enough.
