What would be the point in going fast, no one would be able to enjoy looking at the car

Ive been on the reliable encyclopedia and you seem to be right:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliant_Scimitar
what an ugly machine, i always thought of the reliant scimitar gte the v8 one when i though of scimitar i never thought this was made under the same name, does it have some fantastic driving experience or any redeeming feature

The Scimitar GTE was a Ford Essex V6, not a V8, unless they did a V8 version. My dad used to have an SE6A, brown with velour interior. What a retro machine. Complete fibreglass body, but weighed in a 2ton, so not a light machine.

but the 3 door estate was a cool looking machine, whatever engine it looked the buisness. I suppose a ford v6 is a better engine than some BL rubbish under the bonnet.
Was it quick?

That's a shame, I can't see the year on it but even if it's an '01 it'd be worth 4 times that here. If the steering wheel wasn't on the wrong side of course :?

And where was I on September the 11th? Driving an SE5A back from Cornwall with my mate who'd just bought it. RS3.1 spec, 4 speed with overdrive in canary yellow. It'd been sitting for a while but still went like stink (speedo was out, I pulled along side an M3 and my mate peered in at her dash and she was doing 80, the Scim said 65 and I'd already had it over the ton). It was also urinating petrol out all over the place and one of the tappets kept working its way loose. What a journey that was, coupled with the fact that when we got to the seller's they were glued to the news where a plane had just flown into the WTC, as we watched another one hit. There was no radio in the car, we didn't know what the hell was going on and had no mobiles with us. On the way back to London we were wondering if it would still be there...
