Wow, GeordieBoy! good choice on the D8 - a bit more simple to run.

For those who don't know, Geordie was one of the first bunch of regulars when this site first started back in 2005/2006 and was a keen regular on here.

I drive a Volvo now but still use the site, they even gave me a promotion

I see an Isuzu Trooper on your list, what's all that about?

1999 is where they changed, so it could be either (or a mixture of both  )

A Volvo, you must be getting old.

Was first reg'd in Feb 1999, so a D8 I would think. Will add a pic.

I got a Isuzu Trooper in Jan, just after a really bad winter, after driving a BMW 328 with no traction control in a foot of snow.
Trooper being 3.1TD was able to run on Veg Oil so cheap to run, I got my money back on the fuel savings.
Idea was to get a trailer and tow my 328 to track days using the Trooper.
406 TD is great on Veg aswell.

It's a 1.9TD, so it'll almost certainly be a D8, through and through.

S-reg is also a little early for all the D8.5 stuff - the real hybrid beasts come in the T-reg range. There's one knocking about Aberdeen that has a D9 front end, and a D8-style boot. No idea what engine is in it; there's not many clues on a 406 unless it says HDi or V6 on the wing badges - this particular one doesn't have any wing badges at all.

Still - need some photos of Geordie's new beast to be sure!

Edit: Yep Geordie, that's a D8, and in cracking condition too, by the looks of her!

Not sure if I was around when you were around Geordie. Mine is an early D9 (V-reg) saloon in China Blue, sadly a bit battered right now. Getting a Coupe at the weekend, if all goes according to plan. And welcome back!

Condition aint too bad, got rust on pass door, easily sorted tho, front suspension is a bit soft, so prob need shocks soon.
Apart from that it seems ok, its on 130k but no evidence of cam belt changed, so thats poss overdue.
Its had over £600 spent on it since Jan 2010, prev owner prob thought it costing too much but that happens after 11 yrs.
I got it exceptionally cheap, so dont mind spending a bit of money to sort it.
I wish it had D9 GTX/Exec front seats, I miss an armrest.

Since you were last here, I got rid of the tubby estate, got a V6 saloon, then replaced it with a V6 coupé, then got a Mk.4 Golf TDI to go with it, which I'm about to try to swap for a 407 SW HDI

Hello GB, welcome back. I've got some brand new genuine Peugeot front shocks in boxes here surplus to requirements as I got some Koni shocks off eBay the other week. As a bonus, I'm only up in Northumberland and work down just off Scotswood Rd if you fancy them.
