Re: Suggestions to Peugeot
its a bit ironic a bonnet light under an audi, not just because they are unlikely to break down but also because i cant imagine audi drivers getting their hands dirty to fix anything, but a good suggestion i wouldnt mind a light there myself but dont know where to wire it to.

It's for the ladies, so they can do the "damsel in distress" bit even in the dark.

Maybe they had some left over after they stuck lights all over the outside, so they stuck them under the bonnet too.sirwiggum wrote:A little light under the bonnet.

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: Suggestions to Peugeot
how about a tyre pressure gague that constantly warns of low tyre pressure. No only joking but a functioning tyre pressure system through the mfd would be good just with no warning.
Anyone rember the range rover on top gear that got a drinks cabinet in the back, do the same to the 406, remove the middle seat and make it a 4 seat luxury car, and give it rear wheel drive.

This is starting to remind me so much of that episode of the Simpsons where Homer designs a car...

This is true, it was the A2 that didn't even have a bonnet!406executiveHDI wrote:its a bit ironic a bonnet light under an audi, not just because they are unlikely to break down but also because i cant imagine audi drivers getting their hands dirty to fix anything, but a good suggestion i wouldnt mind a light there myself but dont know where to wire it to.
A friend of a friend has an A4

Apparantly the tyre pressure monitors in the 407 are notoriously unreliable.406executiveHDI wrote:how about a tyre pressure gague that constantly warns of low tyre pressure. No only joking but a functioning tyre pressure system through the mfd would be good just with no warning.

There is a firm up in Antrim makes them for Nissans and Opels.
Drinks cabinet would be nice. Had a chiller in the back when I was off camping, keep the beers cold!

Re: Suggestions to Peugeot
The coupé has a little storage hatch between the two rear seats, big enough to fit a couple of cans in. Guess my next project (after trying to paint a bumper) will be to pipe the aircon into it406executiveHDI wrote:Anyone rember the range rover on top gear that got a drinks cabinet in the back, do the same to the 406, remove the middle seat and make it a 4 seat luxury car, and give it rear wheel drive.

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: Suggestions to Peugeot
i seen one the big lexus and merc s class they had a centre console with radio controls, seperate heater controls, and seat controls thats the extent of what im on about, with mahogany dashed round the place. And throw in a head up display.
As for the dash the basic shape is ok, perhaps tilt the middle towards the driver a bit more, and improve the quality of the top, to a more matte soft touch affair, and laminate the side windows couldnt do any harm for refinements sake.
At the moment i think this car could end up costing round the 100k mark, so for enhanced security mr bean wasnt too far off the mark with his mini.

Re: Suggestions to Peugeot
what about them tvs mounted into the headrests, except with a bit of the headrest that slides over them so they can be hidden. and a heated steering wheel.
