I've had this "issue" when I put oil in my water reservoir . Headlamp washers are operated by a different pump and has a separate fuse. It was the fuse that went on mine and, like someone said, it's in the engine bay.

ill check it, i could have blew the fuse putting the leds in because i dropped a screwdriver into the fuse box when installing them which sparked a bit.

My windy squirters havn't worked for the past 3 days :( I just carry a bottle of water, put my arm out the drivers window and throw it across the windscreen when it needs a clean...If i get a chance 2moro after work i'll attack the pipes with a hairdryer and see if I can get some squirt action on the go again :cheesy:

Yes, very disapointed when I found out this thread was about windscreen washers

The ones in my lorry have frozen
Was ok on way to Castleford yesterday as son was behind me, but on the way back, stopped 6 times to clear the screen.
Guess loads of others were in the same boat, as there was queues in every services on M1 between sheffield and leicester, and many more stopped on the hard shoulder

What if there was a heater element in the washer tank.

The water would still freeze in the pipes.

I've driven lorries that had heated washer jets and the pipes ran round the heater matrix box. Kept going in a Swiss Alpine winter. Now why is it not on cars? But the washer aditive is no major expense and saves the system from freezing problems.

Well, I bought the artic stuff earlier in the week, and it was £3.99 for a litre
Lasted 3 days, so thought it would be a tad expensive to carry on using it, and went with some normal stuff at £4.99 for 5 litres
What a mistake

Damn, I've just been forced* to go shopping again and I knew there was something I wanted to check the price of in the other supermarket while I was there :frown: I was in my mate's shop yesterday and their screenwash is twice the price of Lidl's winter stuff, but then Lidl's only goes down to -20 and it's odd on that it'll get colder than that.

*why does my wife insist on buying one or two of everything and then act all surprised when it only lasts a couple of days?
